How Recurring Bookings Work

Learn how recurring bookings work and how they are generated. This article also highlights upcoming improvements that will give you more flexibility when managing future recurrences.
Updated 1 month ago

Recurring bookings allow you to automatically schedule services on a regular basis—like weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly—without having to create each appointment manually. When you set a booking's frequency to anything other than "One Time" the system handles the scheduling for you.

How Recurrences Are Generated

The system will automatically generates the next booking in the series once the current one is completed. This ensures that the schedule continues smoothly and prevents accidental overlaps or duplicated bookings.

A booking is marked as completed once you have charged for it, marked it as paid, or marked it as completed manually.

Where You'll See Recurring Bookings

In the Bookings list: You'll see all bookings that have already been created—both active and completed ones. You won't see upcoming recurrences here because they haven't been created yet. This keeps your list focused on actual bookings that exist in the system.

In the Calendar view: You'll see all bookings (active and completed), plus a preview of upcoming recurrences—even before they've been fully created.

Upcoming recurrences are marked with a clock icon (🕐) so you can easily tell them apart from actual bookings.

When you click on an upcoming recurrence:

  • You will see the ID of the current active booking it belongs to

  • Clicking that ID takes you directly to the active booking where you can make changes

Editing Recurring Bookings

Currently, you can only edit the active booking in a recurring series. You cannot edit future recurrences yet because they don't fully exist in the system until the current booking is completed.

Coming soon: We're working on an update that will let you edit any future recurrence individually, make changes to a specific date without affecting the entire series. This will give you much more flexibility when managing ongoing service plans.
